  • Abstract
In this work, solubility of salicylic acid (S.A.) in aqueous solutions was determined, associated with other compounds like salts. Isothermal and isobaric solid–liquid equilibrium (SLE) data of five systems containing salicylic acid + water + salt (NaCl, KCl, NaBr, Na2SO4 and K2SO4) have been measured at 92.50 kPa and between 293.5 and 313.3 K by using an equilibrium still. The association of the acid in liquid phase has been considered, and its nonideality was accounted for using rational models. The experimental ternary data have been correlated by two equations or rational models. The predicted results of solubility for the systems studied over a range of temperatures indicated that both modified equations tested can fairly be used to predict solid–liquid equilibrium for aqueous solutions containing salts at temperatures studied.
