Abstract
Dengue is an infectious disease, which is spread by a female mosquito Aedes aegypti. In order to ascertain the strength of this ailment in certain region, basic reproduction number R0 is used for this purpose. We calculated R0 by applying models to the confirmed cases of dengue fever for different hospitals of the Punjab, province of Pakistan. For the best calculated values of R0 we will justify that, whether the disease is endemic, epidemic in Punjab or the region is disease free. In the last we suggest the role of different parameters to control the disease.
