Abstract
In this study, the effects of emotional labor to organizational cynicism are examined. In this context, the effects of sub-dimensions of emotional labor, surface acting, deep acting and natural emotion are investigated on organizational cynicism’s cognitive (beliefs), affective (feelings) and behavioral (behaviors) sub-dimensions. Data are obtained and analyzed from 275 public and private bank employees’ working in Eski?ehir and Bursa. The relations and effects between variables are presented by correlation and regression analyses. The validity of scales are measured with structural equation model. According to the findings, it is seen that the bank employees’ emotional labors have significant effects on organizational cynicism. Especially, it is found that the employees acting surfacely attitude cynical behaviors but the ones behaving naturally show a less negative attitudes and behaviors toward the organization. But no significant relations between deep acting and organizational cynicism are determined.
