Abstract :
The INDUS-1 synchrotron radiation (SR) source is a 450 MeV electron storage ring designed for the production of VUV radiation. Its injector system consists of a microtron and a synchrotron. This paper covers briefly the design features of the storage ring INDUS-1 and its injector system. The development of these accelerators is in a highly advanced stage. The microtron has been commissioned and is used to provide a 20 MeV electron beam for injection into the synchrotron which is presently being commissioned. As regards the storage ring INDUS-1, all of its components are ready and the ring is being assembled.
