Abstract :
In this paper we describe a stand for studing photodesorption processes under synchrotron radiation (SR) in proton super collider beam tube prototypes. The storage ring of VEPP-2M was used as a SR source at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics. At an electron energy Ee = 534 MeV the SR spectrum of the storage ring corresponds to that of the Superconducting Super Collider (SSC) in the USA (critical photon spectrum energy Ec = 284 eV). Two beamlines for SR extraction with a setup for desorption coefficient measurements on warm (294 K) and cold (2–77 K) tubes under the SR are described.
