Abstract :
The CDF data acquisition (DAQ) system requires an upgrade to enable it to handle data rates of 1 kHz or more from the front-end to Level3. The current UltraNet network will have to be replaced, and one possibility is to do so with a scalable optical switching network. This paper discusses such a possibility.
