Abstract :
It is shown that the stimulation spectra of Eu2+ luminescence in BaFBr:Eu2+ based imaging plates are dependent on the incident energies of electrons similarly to protons and that the ratios of the luminescence obtained by stimulation with two different light wavelengths, e.g. 600 and 500 nm, can be used to indicate in a simple way the energies of the incident electrons even for electrons with path lengths far beyond the thicknesses of the imaging plates. It is concluded that the specific energy loss (dEdx) is of importance for the observed energy dependence of the ratio of luminescence measured for the two stimulation wavelengths.
