  • Abstract
    It is very interesting to examine the availability of a superheated superconducting granule (SSG) as a real-time calorimeter measuring a deposit energy through the flip-flop process. We have studied the process arising in tin granules larger than 20 μm in diameter at liquid-helium temperatures. confirmed this time that the flip signals in the tin granule used become smaller and smaller to disappear at a critical external magnetic field determined from the superconducting field Hc. This fact is theoretically expected by considering that the magnetization curves demonstrate the existence of an intermediate state. sult excludes the availability of the tin granule as a real-time calorimeter. There still remains a possibility for the flip-flop effect to appear in tin granules much smaller than 20 μm in diameter. Another candidate material for a manifestation of the effect is aluminium as obeying the global-heating picture.
