Abstract :
Lasing dynamics in a short-pulse FEL oscillator driven by a high-peak current RF linac is numerically studied. Chaotic lasing due to the nonlinear coupling between electron and laser pulses is observed. We suggest a chaos suppression method using a Michelson resonator having path difference shorter than electron bunch length.
