Abstract :
The CEF and ALICE nuclear reaction codes are benchmarked via comparisons with activation yields for proton-induced reactions in the range of 50 MeV to 1.8 GeV with targets of 58,62Ni, 209Bi, 232Th, and 238U. The CEF code results are presented over the entire energy range, whereas results for the ALICE code are given only up to 480 MeV incident proton energy. Different targets have been irradiated in different energy intervals. The codes are generally succesful in reproducing the experimental yields and yield patterns. For the ALICE code, we find an underestimation of multiple charged particle emission in heavy elements.
