Abstract :
A neutron detector utilizing 3He-filled proportional counters is described. It is to be used for measuring the multiplicities and the angular characteristics of neutrons originating in the decay of light neutron-rich nuclei. It has a neutron detection efficiency of 0.36, an angular resolution of about 20°, practically a zero energy threshold, and is cross talk-free.
