Abstract :
An electron gun of a high perveance (up to 10 microperv) in a longitudinal magnetic field is proposed. The main characteristics of such a gun, which are the perveance, current density distribution and electron transverse velocities, are examined by a computer simulation. The generated beam is demonstrated to match requirements of an electron cooling.
