Abstract
A new concept of a canted array undulator is discussed. The undulator consists of the conventional Halbach type of undulator, the top and bottom magnet arrays of which are canted by an angle ±θ horizontally with respect to the beam axis. The undulator can produce a high helical field with a peak field ratio, sin θ, between the horizontal and vertical directions. The structure is simpler than crossed array undulators and double array undulators for helical field generation.
