Dicluster stopping in a two-dimension electron fluid

The strongly correlated stopping of two point-like charges flowing in close vicinity in an electron fluid confined to a plane is investigated within a RPA framework for the target material. A specific attention is given to the stopping of diclusters randomly oriented with respect to their overall constant drift velocity. Analytic expressions for the correlated energy loss are detailed at high and low projectile velocities V. The ratio of correlated to uncorrelated stopping is shown independent of target electron density at high V values.
