Abstract :
A photoneutron detection system produced by high-energy photons has been developed. The system, installed at ETL Laser-Compton-backscattered photon facility which produces quasi-monochromatic photons with energies from 1 to 40 MeV, consists of a liquid scintillation neutron detector and the signal processing system. The neutron detector consists of a cylindrical container which was divided into 16 cells, filled with a gadolinium-loaded liquid scintillator. Recent results of the performance test of the neutron detector using gamma-ray and neutron sources are described.
