Abstract :
Neutrino beams from muon decays differ from “traditional” π beam in their pure double flavour component. They are therefore extremely well-suited for the study of νμ⇝νe oscillations. On the other hand, the presence of a large νe component can result in a diminuished performance with respect to traditional beams in the search for νμ→ντ oscillations, unless a distance with a very favourable signal/background ratio is chosen.
