Abstract
The optics design is presented for a 1 GeV/c separated antideuteron beam produced from a high intensity 50 GeV proton beam on a thick target. The antiprotons and negative pions which are four, respectively eight, orders of magnitude more abundant than the antideuterons, can be removed by electrostatic separation. Negative pions and muons from secondary sources such as scattering and decay can be removed by using two stages of separation.
