Abstract :
For the measurement of the emitted dose and the gradual reduction of the absorbed dose per pulse provided by FEBETRON 708 electron accelerator (two synchronized electron beams each delivers 0.8 MeV, 3 ns duration) from 104 Gy (1 Mrad)111Gy (Gray)=100rad; 1rad=100erg/g=6.24×1013eV/g absorbed energy.
about 5 Gy (0.5 krad) per pulse a simple setup has been designed and applied. The registration of the reduced dose per pulse as well as the calibration of the new designed attenuators (“electron beam filters”) is described. The new setup for measurement of the absorbed dose per pulse offers a highly homogenous distribution of the very reactive transients in the liquid media and renders good reproducibility of the kinetic data.
