Thoughts on the Neutrino Factory

There is growing interest in the ‘Neutrino Factory’, by which is commonly meant intense neutrino beams from muon decays in a storage ring with long, straight sections pointing to detectors hundreds or thousands of kilometers away. Considerable progress has been reported at this third Neutrino Factory Workshop. It is sometimes difficult to remember that the first workshop was only two years ago.
