Abstract
The performance of glass RPCs operated in avalanche mode has been studied by varying both particle rate (up to about 100 Hz/cm2 equivalent m.i.p.) and temperature (up to 40°C). The glass RPC rate capability is seen to strongly improve with increasing temperature, due to the lowering of the glass electrodes volume resistivity.
