Abstract :
A beam interlock system with safety keys is adopted in the Materials and Life science experimental Facility (MLF) at J-PARC to protect users conducting experiments from excessive doses of radiation from neutron and muon beams. This paper outlines the interlock system from the point of view of safety, understandability and adaptability.
