Abstract :
Plasma Focus generators (PFGs) are the most powerful and effective sources generating simultaneously short bursts of X-rays and fast neutrons. They are distinguished by small size of emitting area (∼1 mm) and short burst duration (<100 ns). That is why they are very perspective for investigating dynamic phenomena with radiographic methods with high time resolution. This paper demonstrates the feasibility to carry out X-ray and neutron radiography simultaneously on a plasma focus generator with the energy in the capacitor bank of about 10 kJ and fast neutron yield of ≈1011 n/pulse.
