Abstract :
A model for the calculation of activation induced dose spatial distribution caused by heavy ion irradiation was developed for the design of the shielding and operation of the Super-FRS, which is under development for the future project at FAIR GSI. The model is divided into; (1) Residual nuclei calculation using the heavy ion Monte Carlo code PHITS, (2) activation calculation, (3) dose conversion, and (4) dose attenuation calculation. The model was prepared rather simple, however it showed good agreement with measured data on a benchmark calculation.
