Abstract
Available, clean and reliable tidal energy exists in a vast area. It can also be presented to many cities and societies
living near the coast. It can be used as a clean energy for coastal areas of the world, including islands and southern
coasts of Iran. Furthermore, it’s applied in environmental issues to regenerate the coastal corals. Kinetic energy of
the tide is converted to electricity by various turbines. In this paper different methods of energy exploitation from
tidal currents and also the tides of southern coast of Iran are investigated and compared with each other. Besides, we
study the production of helical turbine which has several advantages and also investigate the results and technical
feasibility study for construction of the energy exploitation station in south of the country. As final results
demonstrated, construction of the station for electricity generation in Persian Gulf is necessary.
