Abstract :
Molar excess volumes (VE) and viscosities have been evaluated for binary mixtures of ethylenediamine and water in the temperature range from 303.15 to 318.15 K at an interval of 5 K. Excess molar volumes VE have been computed from density while excess Gibbs free energy of activation ΔG∗E is calculated from viscosity deviation Δη. The results were applied to Redlich–Kister equation. It is observed that all mixtures show negative values of VE obviously due to increased interactions between amino and hydroxyl groups of the components.
