Abstract :
The solubility data of elemental sulfur in seven (CH4+H2S+CO2) ternary mixtures were measured in a static cell with the experimental temperature-range (303.2–363.2) K and pressure-range (20–45) MPa. The mole fraction of H2S in sour gas mixture ranges from 0.0495 to 0.2662 and that of CO2 ranges from 0.0086 to 0.1039. The Peng–Robinson equation of state was used to correlate the solubility of sulfur in natural gas mixtures. The calculated values are in good agreement with experimental data, and the average absolute deviation is only 6.5%.
