Abstract
The present investigation comprises of theoretical evaluation of the thermodynamic excess functions, viz. excess energy and excess entropy for five binary liquid mixtures at varying pressures. A statistical mechanical theory, along with the Schaaff’s equation for sound velocity was used in order to calculate the above-mentioned excess properties directly through the use of the experimental data of ultrasonic velocity and density only.
