Abstract :
The model POLMOD.PEST (POLlution MODel. PESTicides) has been elaborated to predict the dynamics of pesticides of various persistence in the elementary ecosystems (EE) of various geographical zones. Basing on the definition of EE, the given model consists of a set of submodels relevant to the main units of EE: lower atmosphere, soil, vegetation, surface and underground water. The parameters of all submodels were estimated using non-linear optimization techniques on the base of experimental and field data obtained from literature sources. The model POLMOD.PEST was used to simulate the behavior of pesticides under field conditions in various ecosystems from middle taiga up to subtropical one.
