Abstract
After weighing otolith separated from Aspius aspius taeniatus fish in south basin of Caspian Sea, morphological
studies were done such as determining length, width, area, and perimeter. The age of otolith was determined
after cutting. Analysis of relationship between otolith parameters and fish age show weight and length of otolith
are correlated with the age. The best indicators in determining age of Aspius aspius taeniatus are otolith weight
(R=0.96), and length (R=0.82). Relationship between morphological parameters of otolith and size of Aspius
aspius taeniatus fish (length and weight) indicate length, weight, perimeter and area of otolith are good
indicators in determining length and weight of fish body. Exponential relationship between length and weight of
the fish body was measured by correlation higher than R=0.96.
