Abstract :
This work develops the theory of electromagnetic wave propagation through multilayered structures made of anisotropic materials. The proposed method of resolution is based on the Greenʹs dyadic technique. The electromagnetic field scattered by the multilayer is obtained as the solution of a Lippmann-Schwinger equation that can be solved numerically for an arbitrary profile of the anisotropic dielectric tensor. The technique does not rely on any other approximation than the number of points used in the one-dimensional discretization grid so that thin as well as thick layers are tractable on the same footing. Applications to magneto-optical effects in various multilayered structures are discussed from the computed reflected field (Kerr effect).
