Abstract :
As more companies implement knowledge management (KM), they require a practical and
coherent strategy and practice anchored in a valid and comprehensive KM life cycle model or
framework. New knowledge is created in interaction between people, when the
communication is performed between individuals organizations need a lot of information
from outside, but at the same time they themselves have information, constantly create it and
renew it. In this research, organizational level of knowledge management based on sevenstage process of Bukowitz and Williams has been investigated in Kashan Water and Sewage
Company. This research has been constructed by distributing a questionnaire including, 98
questions between staff and managers of Kashan Water and Sewage Company and its
analysis by using SPSS software. Knowledge management process components include:
gaining knowledge, using knowledge, learning (from knowledge process), sharing knowledge,
evaluation of knowledge, making and stabilization of knowledge, optimal use of knowledge.
These factors should be managed to make integrated knowledge management systems. Our
research questionnaire provides possibility of evaluation of activities related to knowledge
management in organization, even if activities that organization do not classify them
knowledge management field, but they relate to knowledge management, in practice. In view
of results of this research, in all phases Kashan Water and Sewage level was in average or
lower than average except knowledge gaining and creating phase.
