Abstract :
The occurence of disorientations in dislocation structures is investigated for hot-compressed aluminium single crystals with [001] orientation. The local orientations are determined by means of electron backscattered patterns (EBSP) for sampling points with a constant point distance smaller than the dislocation cell or subgrain size. Accordingly, a procedure for the evaluation of the measured orientations is developed which takes into account that adjacent sampling points are separated by a dislocation boundary only occasionally. Additionally, the substructure of the crystals is characterized by rocking curves and TEM.
