Abstract
The anodic film could be hardly formed on the surface of the 7050 T7451 Al alloy in chromic acid with the conventional method. In order to find a proper anodizing method, the effects of the anodizing voltage and the so-called deoxidization were studied. It was found that the suitable voltage was >30 V for this alloy anodized in chromic acid, and the deoxidisation worsened the corrosion resistance of the alloy. The corrosion route of the alloy bearing anodic film was pitting — intergranular corrosion — exfoliation.
