Abstract
In order to understand heat transfer in multi-stage atomization, simulation experiments have been conducted based on principle of similitude. For this purpose, the limitation of conventional heat transfer laws and the characteristics of multi-stage atomization were considered. To simulate the heat transfer between metallic droplets and flowing media, small composite copper spheres were devised to be heated internally for heat transfer in the flow of air, water or two-phase fluids. Three new heat transfer laws, which were obtained for the conditions of large Reynolds numbers (Re) and turbulence flow, are different from conventional ones, but suitable for multi-stage atomization.
