Abstract :
We demonstrate, for the first time, that the S-correlated theory of misfit-induced superstructures (MIS) and its continuity criteria, defined within the framework of the elasticity theory, enable us to investigate the in-heterostructure physics of host materials. Two heterostructures, CdTe/Cd1 − xZnxTe/ZnTe and CdTe/Cd1 − xMnxTe/MnTe, both containing alloy buffer layers, are considered. The issues are the optimization of the composition x of the buffer layer and the in-heterostructure physics of host materials.
