Magnetization behaviour of electrodeposited Zn-Mn alloys

Zn-Mn alloys were electrodeposited from acidic baths and their magnetization behaviour was studied. The influence of bath compositions, deposition current density (CD), and additives were investigated. Magnetic properties of the alloys are very sensitive to Zn++/Mn++ ratio in the bath. Variations in CD effect interesting changes on the magnetic moments of the co-deposits. The magnetic character of the alloys can be altered with change in mode of complexation. Pronounced ferromagnetism is observed in Zn-Mn-Ni and Zn-Mn-Fe alloys.
