Abstract
By considering the electrons transferring from the outer s and p shells of metalloid atoms to the unfilled d-shell of transition metal atoms, this paper gives a method to estimate the total effective conducting electron numbers Z of amorphous TM-M alloys with high metalloid content. For comparing the theoretical values Zth with experimental values Zexp, several amorphous Ni-based alloys are selected to calculate their Zth values. The results show that the Zth values are in agreement with Zexp values.
