The determination of the anion content in polyaniline as a function of the pH value and the electrode potential: An in situ FTIR spectroscopic study

Using in situ FTIR ATR spectroscopy, the relative anion content of polyaniline films on the surface of an electrode was determined. Since the infrared absorption bands of ReO4 do not interfere with absorption bands of the polymer, aqueous solutions of HReO4/NaReO4 of different pH values were used as electrolytes. From the characteristic infrared absorption of ReO4, a threedimensional plot of the relative anion content vs. electrode potential and pH value is presented.
