Abstract
The sulfur species were sulfur, carbon disulfide, 2-aminothiophenol, and 2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole (DMcT). Generally, sulfur compounds have strong interactions with metallic electrodes which give passive films. With polyaniline (PANi) it is also true, because of interactions between nitrogen and sulfur. Still now, it only appears that polyaniline was abble to catalyse redox systems of DMcT. The energy density of a battery Li/PANi/DMcT could be closed to 700 Wh/kg. It is probable that other disulfides are suitable. The condition could be that pK of corresponding dithiols in water are in the range of 2–3. It means a value close to this one of poly(emeraldine) (2.5)
