Abstract :
New polymers having a fluorenone derivatives, poly (4-vinylbenzyl 9-dicyanomethylenefluorene-4-carboxylate), were prepared and their electrical properties were measured. Monomer was prepared using 9-dicyanomethylenefluorene-4-carboxylic acid and p-chloromethyl styrene. Homo polymer and copolymer with butyl methacrylate were obtained using a radical initiator. These polymers were soluble in organic solvents such as THF, chloroform, and methylene chloride. The polymer showed two reversible oxidation potentials at −0.5V and −1.04V and two reduction potentials at −0.62V and −1.15V.
