Abstract :
Electro-physical characteristics of brominated pitch-based carbon fibers (CF) have been measured in the 10–300 K temperature range. The room-temperature electrical resistivity of these fibers has decreased by a factor of 7 relative to their initial state. The temperature dependencies of the resistance for both initial and Br2-treated CFs turned out to be similar. The temporary stability of the brominated fibers resistance was monitored over one month. Thermal stability of Br2-treated fibers in 25–800°C temperature range has been studied by TGA-method.
