Abstract :
Single crystals of the new molecular metal (Per)2Au(i-mns)2 were obtained by electrocrystallization. The electrical conductivity is ≈300 S/cm at 300 K and presents a broad maximum at ca. 50K. The thermoelectric power, SRT≈36 μV/K, decreases almost linearly with temperature upon cooling down to 115 K, confirming the metallic properties at high temperature. The EPR signal consists on a single line (ΔHpp≈1G and g≈2.004 at 300K) ascribed to the delocalized electrons in the perylene chains, in agreement with the Pauli-like behaviour of the static magnetic susceptibility (χp≈2.4×10−4emu/mol).
