Optical properties of poly(diacetylene) block-copoly(ether-urethanes), containing covalently bound nitroxyl spin labels in the main chain

Optical and magnetic properties of segmented poly(diacetylene-block-copolyetherurethanes) (PDAEU) bearing spin label in the main chain are reported. The data obtainable by UV/VIS, FTIR, FT-Raman and EPR methods during studies of phase segregation or thermochromism processes in these composite materials are shown to correlate and effectively complement each other. The relevant thermally induced transient states in these polymers are discussed.
