Abstract :
We report blue electroluminescence from a polymer in which chromophoric units of uniform conjugation length are attached as side-chains to a non-conjugated flexible backbone. The electroluminescence band peaks at 450nm and is relatively narrow (FWHM = 75nm). Various device structures have been investigated, and electroluminescence internal quantum efficiencies of up to 0.55% (photons per electron) have been obtained.
