Formation of Langmuir-Blodgett heterostructures of fullerene with amphiphilic matrix molecules

Langmuir-Blodgett films of fullerene C60/stearic acid mixed films were prepared on a monocrystal Si substrate. By varying the fullerene concentration we were able to produce bi- or tri-molecular layered quasi 2D C60 systems in the amphiphilic matrix. The high order of the C60 molecular arrangement in the layers was proven by X-ray diffraction, optical methods and charge transient spectroscopy.
