Abstract :
We report the emission characteristics of two-polymer layer electroluminescent devices, fabricated from poly(p-phenylenevinylene) and a solution-processable poly(cyanoterephthalylidene), driven using pulsed voltages. Current, luminance and response times were measured as a function of drive voltage. A peak pulsed luminance of 104 cd m−2 was achieved at a current density of 1.5 A cm−2, with linear variation of light output with current up to this value.
