Abstract :
We extend a previous treatment of labeled particle hopping transport in a system containing a background of general concentration of particles with hard core repulsion. The particles hop stochastically on a lattice with interpenetrating two spatial sublattices. We allow for an arbitrarily large potential difference between sites on different sublattices which can result in vastly different sublattice-dependent hopping rates. The present analysis is based on a suitable self-consistent scheme of hopping rate renormalization, whereby the correlation-induced slowing down of the tracer is the same both within and without a coupled, tracer-vacancy fluctuation field. Theoretical predictions for the tracer diffusion are tested against Monte Carlo simulations with much improved results over those given in the previous work.
