Abstract :
The processing of conductive polymers has been limited by insolubility and gelation. Concentrated polyaniline solutions have been prepared in DMPII facilitating processing into continuous fibers. However, the stability of these solutions is sensitive to concentration and time. Therefore, an understanding of the viscoelastic behavior of these solutions is critical for high quality fibers to be spun in large quantities. Characterization of dynamic rheological properties provides new insight into the processability of polyaniline.
