Abstract :
Polyaniline was synthesized by using ammonium peroxodisulfate as an oxidant in reversed micellar solutions consisting of sodium di (2-ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate and 2M HCl solution in isooctane. The electric conductivity of this pristine polymer was 1.0 S / cm. From IR spectroscopic analysis, the polymers were almost surfactant-free, and they were soluble in DMF and N-methylpyrrolidinone (NMP). Treatment of these polymers with aqueous ammonia afforded THF-soluble polymers. The weight average molecular weight of the polymer was determined by GPC to be about 7000.
