Abstract :
In the present work we propose a new type of all-organic transistor with novel properties that is within the feasibility of present technology for organic materials. Based on molecular modeling, we demonstrate that the conductivity of a conjugated polymer chain may be modulated by a static electric field, without chemical doping. This is the first theoretical characterization of an all-organic molecular transistor based on all-valence electron quantum chemical calculations.
